Jennifer A. Stein

Jennifer Stein, MD PhD is a professor at NYU School of Medicine where she serves as the medical director of the medical dermatology faculty practice and the associate director of the Pigmented Lesion Section. She graduated from Yale University and received her MD and PhD in Cell Biology at NYU School of Medicine where she went on to complete her dermatology training. She serves as the co-chair of the Melanoma Measures Workgroup of the Performance Measurement Committee for the American Academy of Dermatology and is the co-chair of the Resident Dermoscopy Bowl for the International Dermoscopy Society. 


Jennifer Stein is also the course director for NYU’s annual CME program, Advances in Dermatology and founded the Transplant Dermatology Program at NYU. As a specialist in early detection of melanoma and management of patients with atypical moles, she uses advanced imaging methods such as dermoscopy and sequential dermoscopic imaging for melanoma surveillance. She has lectured and published widely about melanoma in special situations such as pregnancy, and in special locations such as on the face, hands and feet.
